POTS, ME/CFS, HPV vaccine bivirkninger og autoimmunitet

Forkortelser:
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome = ME/CFS
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome = POTS
Orthostatic Intolerance = OI

ME/CFS, POTS og HPV vaccine bivirkninger har det til fælles, at alle tre tilstande er mistænkt for at have autoimmune mekanismer involveret.

ME/CFS og POTS er to tilstande som meget ofte optræder sammen. Et studie viste at 27% af undersøgte ME/CFS patienter havde POTS.[1] Et andet studie viste, at 64 % af en gruppe POTS patienter også opfyldte kriterierne for ME/CFS. [2] OI som kan være del af en autonom dysfunktion (ligesom POST) er i et studie vist at forekomme hos 95% af ME/CFS patienterne. [3]

Der er fremsat en hypotese om, at ME/CFS kan være en autoimmun sygdom, idet medicinen Rituximab (der bl.a. anvendes til autoimmune tilstande) har vist god effekt på ME/CFS patienter. [4] Andre iagttagelser tyder også på en autoimmun ætiologi i ME/CFS. [5], [6] , [7] , [8] , [9] , [10] , [11] , [12] , [13], [14]

Der er ligeledes fremsat hypotese om, at POTS kan være autoimmunt udløst og forskellige studier viser, at hos en del af POTS patienter kan der påvises auto antistoffer i blodet. [15] , [16] , [17] , [18] ,[19] , [20] ,[21]

POTS og OI findes som komorbiditeter ved mange autoimmune sygdomme, bl. a. ved sclerose, [22] , [23] , [24], [25] , [26] lupus [27] og sjögren syndrom. [28]

POTS har vist sig efter HPV vaccination [29] , [30] , og Sundhedsstyrelsen oplyser også om POTS tilfælde i Danmark på deres hjemmeside om HPV bivirkninger. [31]

Der er også fremsat udsagn om udvikling af ME/CFS efter HPV vaccination [33]. Ligesom andre autoimmune tilstande er mistænkt for at være følge af HPV vaccination [34] , [35] , [36] , [37] , [38] , [39]

ME/CFS, POTS og tilstande udløst af HPV vaccine kan således muligvis være forårsaget af autoimmune mekanismer. Overlap og afgrænsninger mellem ME/CFS, POTS og tilstande udløst af HPV vaccine bør undersøges grundigt og systematisk. Ligesom ætiologi for disse tilstande skal kortlægges med henblik på at etablere egnede behandlingsmetoder.

Den 7. november 2013 var der åbent samråd med Ministeren for Sundhed og Forebyggelse vedrørende HPV vaccination.

Her blev der stillet forslag om at etablere en enhed for samlet at kigge på de 129 kvinder, der har fået alvorlige bivirkninger efter HPV vaccination. Jeg vil gerne bifalde denne gode idé.

Det centrale sygdomselement i ME/CFS, POTS og HPV vaccine bivirkninger synes at samle sig om immunologiske forstyrrelser og autonom dysfunktion. Hvorfor ikke benytte lejligheden til at etablere en forskningsenhed i Danmark med henblik på at forstå samspillet mellem immunsystemet og det autonome nervesystem. En faglig stærk arbejdsgruppe, der systematisk undersøger de 129 unge kvinder vil være en god start.

Viden om behandling af tilstande med dysfunktion i immunsystemet og det autonome nervesystem samt udvikling af biomarkører til at diagnosticere og overvåge sygdommene ville være fremragende know-how for Danmark. Ligesom der vil være god økonomi i at forhindre, at over 100 unge kvinder ender på førtidspension.

Det er kendt viden, at vacciner (ikke bare HPV vaccinen) kan udløse autoimmune tilstande. Vaccinationer er en god opfindelse, som redder mange menneskeliv. Men det er nødvendigt, at forskningen finder frem til, hvilke personer der har en potentiel risiko for at udvikle alvorlige bivirkninger og hvorfor. Og samtidig skal der gøres det yderste for at hjælpe de mennesker, som har udviklet alvorlige bivirkninger efter vaccination.

Spørgsmålet er ikke OM, der skal etableres en speciel enhed til at adressere disse problemstillinger, men HVOR HURTIGT kan den etableres. Har samfundet råd til at lade være?
